Stretching, although ignored by many in their day-to-day life, is one of the simplest and most effective ways to keep good posture, high energy, and avoid pain. Here are six simple stretches you can do at home, or in the office, that will keep you flexible, aligned, and happy: 1. Hamstring Stretch: Stand up straight with your back in line and your abs tightened. Relax your shoulders and keep feet shoulder width. Bring your left leg forward, heel down, toes up and leg straight. Keeping back straight and abs tight, bend the right knee as if sitting back, while supporting yourself with both hands on your thighs. |

Homeopathy is defined as “a system of medicine which involves treating the individual with highly diluted substances, given mainly in tablet form, with the aim of triggering the body’s natural system of healing.” In essence, it’s using elements from nature to heal a patient internally, through a series of traditional ailments. Healing people naturally is one of the core principles of chiropractic, and it should come as no surprise that many DC’s refer patients to a homeopathic doctor, or offer homeopathic care themselves at their practice. In many cases, homeopathy is a great alternative when comparing it to traditional medicine. The simplest way to explain homeopathy is by using the “like with like” treatment theory. “Like with like” is the principle that any substance that causes symptoms in large doses can be used in small, controlled amounts to treat the very same symptoms. For example if eating too much of a certain food causes an allergic reaction, the homeopathic cure would be a very small, controlled, and diluted amount of the same food. Chances are, if they’ve been treated with conventional medicine, they’ve been treated in a similar fashion, as many traditional medicines work the same way. Homeopathic medicines, also known as “remedies” are prepared by a delicate process of dilution and succussion. Dilution is done with natural substances, water and alcohol. Succussion is a unique process of agitation that can most easily be described as vigorous shaking, or agitating the biological agents in the medicine. The remedies are then often made into pill form, or administered as a liquid through drops ingested by the patient. The theory behind this is that the process of mixing and diluting creates new nanostructures, which contain a new property that can heal by working with the body’s defenses against the original property that caused the problem. How does this relate to Chiropractic? Well, in many cases homeopathy can add to treatment already being given to a patient in the form of Chiropractic care. As we know, the body has an immense potential for self-healing if it is properly aligned and adjusted. Adding homeopathic remedies may be able to even further help the body to heal itself by attacking the problem internally.

Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) is an all too common syndrome suffered by millions of children and adults worldwide. For years it was left untreated, and then, in what seemed like an overly hasty reaction, over-treated with prescription medications. The over-medicating of children who suffer from ADD, however, has not gone unnoticed. These days, many parents, as well as health experts and educators, are now starting to look for better natural treatment options. One of the most effective options found so far is Chiropractic care. |
